A low pipeline of construction work in Western Australia would have seen the state’s residential building sector become one of the country’s first to feel the impact of the COVID-19 downturn.

But a $125 million stimulus package from the WA Government – off the back of last week’s Federal Government announcement of $25,000 grants for owner-occupiers who build or substantially renovate their homes – could offer a much-needed recovery boost.
