State Election

UDIA WA State Election Campaign

UDIA WA is calling on all political parties and candidates in the lead up to the 2021 WA State Election to focus on maximising Western Australia’s opportunities as an attractive place to live, work and invest to enable our communities to prosper.

Sensible management of the health risks associated with COVID-19 has supported our economy and cemented WA as a safe and stable place.

To strengthen and diversify our economy, the next government must make the most of what we have to offer people who live here and those looking to do business here, travel here or move here in the coming years.

To maximise WA’s opportunities, UDIA WA has highlighted three key pillars in our campaign – Economy, Environment and Liveabilty.

Our recommendations are designed to ensure the urban development industry can play a key role in the continued success and growth of our State to the benefit of all Western Australians.

Not only is the development industry a significant employer, representing 15% of all employment in WA and close to $18 billion in Gross State Product, supporting the delivery of high quality urban development is critical to providing ALL West Australians with the chance to succeed.

Underpinning our recommendations is the need for a clear value proposition for WA that we can tell the world.

Let’s work together and harness our unique and positive characteristics and build on our reputation as the best possible place to live, work and invest!
