INDUSTRY WELCOMES NEW WAPC CHAIR

The Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA WA) has welcomed today’s announcement of David Caddy as the new Chair of the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC).

“David Caddy is well regarded as a statesman of the property industry due to his professional expertise and extensive knowledge in urban and regional planning in WA,” UDIA WA CEO Allison Hailes said.

“His experience across both government and private industry, including his time as a Councillor at the City of Nedlands, will ensure he has a broad perspective of the planning and development process from different viewpoints,” Ms Hailes said.

“David, as Executive Chairman at TPG, has been a valued member of UDIA for many years,” Ms Hailes said.

“He is easily one of the most well-known and respected town planners in WA,” Ms Hailes said.

“UDIA looks forward to working with David during his tenure as Chairman,” Ms Hailes said.

In announcing David’s appointment at UDIA’s State Conference in Bunker Bay this morning, Minister Saffioti noted David’s extensive experience and knowledge of the planning system in Western Australia.

Congratulations to David Caddy on his appointment.
