WA’s building boom saw 1100 building permit applications totalling $150 million lodged with one council in three months.

The City of Wanneroo received about 1100 applications from May to July – a 60 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

The City’s streamlined approval process helped maximise the building boom and Mayor Tracey Roberts said removing barriers in the planning system was crucial to support the construction industry’s recovery from COVID-19.
