The Albanese Government is kicking in nearly $30 million towards WA’s planning reforms.
Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers on Saturday said the $29.6 million funding would help cut red tape, providing faster approvals to boost housing construction and support businesses in WA.
“We’re working together with WA to help cut red tape and make it easier to do business because boosting productivity is key to lifting living standards,” Dr Chalmers said.
“These reforms will be good for builders, good for business and good for West Australians.”
The WA reforms include centralising development approvals with the WA Planning Commission for higher density residential and mixed-use developments within 800m of train stations.
