The City of Wanneroo is leading the way on development, growing nearly twice as quickly as the next fastest-growing area and cementing its position as WA’s growth powerhouse.
Recognised recently by UDIA as the State’s most active local government for subdivision applications, it processed 6651 lots over 2024 and 2025.
It is enough to welcome 16,000 new residents, which means Wanneroo prepared to add a population the size of Duncraig to its district over the two years.
New quarterly data shows the local government region recorded the highest number of residential building approvals in the State in the final quarter of 2025/26, with a massive 1010 detached house approvals, which was twice as much as the second-fastest growing region.
It also led on new semi-detached homes, with 69 medium-density dwelling approvals, and maintains the largest pipeline of conditionally approved lots in WA.
