The chronic skills shortage has tipped over into the land market, with a drop in sales as people shy away from building their homes.
New data from the Urban Development Institute of Australia (WA) shows land sales continued to decline in the June 2022 quarter, with a 17 per cent drop compared to the March 2022 quarter, and a 4.6 per cent decline over the year.
UDIA (WA) chief executive Tanya Steinbeck said labour shortages affected the supply of land and the ability to build on it.
