THE WEST AUSTRALIAN

Tanya Steinbeck has been appointed chief executive of WA’s Urban Development Institute of Australia starting next month.
Ms Steinbeck replaces Allison Hailes, who is moving overseas after three years at the helm.

UDIA WA president Nick Allingame said Ms Steinbeck had property development industry experience across the private, government and peak body sectors in the State.

“(We are) very pleased to welcome Tanya Steinbeck to the team,” Mr Allingame said.

“Ms Steinbeck has a proven track record in senior management roles and will bring dynamic, informed and strong leadership so that we can continue to successfully represent our members, work collaboratively with government and promote best practice in property development in our State.”

Ms Steinbeck is executive director of the regional services reform unit at the Department of Communities.

The unit was created to deliver systemic change to improve the lives of Aboriginals in WA’s regional and remote communities.

Before that Ms Steinbeck was responsible for implementing the $560 million social housing investment package at the Department of Communities.
