The City of Nedlands has appointed a new chief executive, bringing an end to the recruitment search after a troubled time at the western suburbs council.
Paul Martin will start his five-year term as the City of Nedlands chief executive on August 24.
Mr Martin joins the city from the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, where he has been the chief executive for seven years.
His appointment ended the search for a new chief executive since May, after Keri Shannon took immediate leave in October and officially parted ways with the city in late January.
Local Government Minister Hannah Beazley dismissed the Nedlands council last year after mass exits reduced the body to just three elected members and mayor Fiona Argyle.
An extraordinary election for a new Nedlands council was held earlier this year.
