A drastic decline in new apartment projects will further exacerbate WA’s housing supply crisis, industry experts have warned.
The latest figures from Urbis Apartment Essentials show just two new apartment projects — totalling 143 apartments — started construction in Perth in the first half of 2023.
This means the supply chain has dwindled down to the Riviere Central project in Applecross by Edge Visionary Living and Olive St. Subiaco Apartments by Devwest Group; each offering just over 70 apartments and the only two projects to begin construction in the six months to June.
