Over 280 attendees joined UDIA WA on Thursday 27 April as we discussed the new Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2021, including the new assessment and approvals process, and how this differs from the existing approach. The new guiding documents, which include activity categories, consultation guidelines and approval timeframes were also be discussed with presenters Anthony Kannis, Director General – DPLH, Irene Stainton & Belinda Moharich from the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Council, and John Clifton, Manager Strategy and Innovation – DevelopmentWA.
