Cabinet ministers Rita Saffioti, Paul Papalia, Bill Johnston and Balcatta MP David Michael were the major movers as Roger Cook unveiled his refreshed cabinet at Dumas House this morning.

As widely expected, Ms Saffioti was handed the position of treasurer following her critical role endorsing Mr Cook for premier after the shock resignation of Mark McGowan.

Ms Saffioti will retain the transport portfolio and will also become minister for tourism, a portfolio previously held by Mr Cook. She played down questioning around workload concerns when quizzed by media.

“I’ve been able to manage the wide variety of economic portfolios I’ve held before, and this will be again about managing time effectively, prioritising and being very much focused on delivering outcomes,” Ms Saffioti said.

“Look at my record over the past six years, where I’ve had a combination of economic portfolios.”
