Professional Development Programs

This six day program is specifically designed for the Western Australian context and introduces participants to the various areas of knowledge required to operate effectively in our local residential development industry.

Learn to define and manage projects, while becoming familiar with terminology from the broad range of disciplines and concepts involved in property development.

Gain a practical understanding of the tools needed to navigate through complex development processes and the different roles within a project team

Led by experienced presenters from the WA property development industry, the course provides practical lessons on how to manage the project life-cycle and understand the principles of commercial awareness, time, quality and cost.

The UDIA Professional Development Program is aligned to the BSB51415 Diploma of Project Management delivered by Swinburne University of Technology.

This means that upon completion of the full six-day course, participants may submit their portfolios of evidence and apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), to be awarded the Diploma of Project Management delivered by Swinburne.

Upon successful completion of the RPL process, the Diploma of Project Management delivered by Swinburne will be awarded to the participant without any further study required.

The Diploma of Project Management delivered by Swinburne is also endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management.

The UDIA Professional Development Program also qualifies for funding under the education funding initiative of the Property Education Foundation, which supports young professionals and property undergraduates who wish to further their education and training. Applicants (with less than 5 years’ employment in the property sector) are eligible to apply for the funding. They may access the application form from the Foundation’s website and send the completed form to at least 2 weeks before the commencement of the course.
