There is an ambitious blueprint to triple the population of Perth city by 2050, but when property professionals gathered at a summit last week to discuss what is wrong with the city and how to fix it, it was evident that this lofty goal largely remains in the discussion phase.

In 2019, federal, state, and the city council agreed to a City Deal, but how to attract residents to Perth’s heart remained a major topic at an Urban Development Institute of Australia WA conference last week.

WAtoday spoke with three people who live, work and play in the CBD to find out the good, the bad and the ugly about city life – and why, currently, suburbia has the edge.
