Here are some tips to help you choose the right block in a new estate for you:

Who is the developer? You should purchase from a reputable developer – all UDIA members are bound by a code of conduct;

What facilities are available in the local area? Consider proximity to local shops, schools, sporting and community facilities;

What is the future for development in the area? Purchasing in the early stages of a development can mean your block will increase in value once the area becomes more established and more facilities are built;

How will I get around? Consider employment and transport opportunities in the area;

What will I get for my money? In a buyer’s market there are great inclusions such as front and back landscaping, fencing and fibre optic cabling to the home;

What size block is needed? There are a range of lot/housing types available to suit your lifestyle and price range; and

What is the most important thing to you – proximity to shops, restaurants and a busy night life or a big back yard in a quiet location.
